Contemplation

How do we deepen an experience?

I can think of two ways – neither of them exclusive of the other. The first is to represent the experience in some form or another (certain forms may pull us deeper into the mechanics of representation than others – though this isn’t necessarily a good thing since it may distract us from the initial focus of our attention). The other is to dwell upon the details, to examine the component parts and to immerse ourselves in renewed contemplation of the whole; to situate the experience within the broader circumference of our awareness.
